I remember making these ovens in Girl Scouts. They seemed to take a long time to cook things, but were a lot of fun.
I made a solar oven with my kids this summer. We used a pizza box, cut a window, and lined it all with foil. Basically the same idea as NightOwl's. It worked great! We made toasted cheese for lunch, cookies and s'mores. It got up to about 250 degrees Farenheit. A great lesson in solar energy.
