Gentlemen… (March 21, 2008)
The following email message was sent in January, 2008 after our
2nd circuit board failed. The Great Indoors has all my records of service and problems on your computer
however the original message dated in January explains our situation
up until today March 21st.
Our Kenmore LG stopped working AGAIN two days ago. We immediately
called for service. This is the 3rd circuit breaker that has failed on this
refrigerator. The warranty we purchased in December, 2007, does not
include replacement coverage’s. We were not offered any other warranty.
The warranty department # 1-800-469-4663 offered us a warranty for
$251.99…there was no other offer made..Just pay the $251.99 and we
would be covered. We were not told about any ‘Master’ warranty that
would cover replacement if the problems continued.
I have talked to 3 store managers at the Chandler Great Indoors. Ryan
Gates was kind enough to escalate my concerns to the warranty dept
and the service department but no one can do anything to resolve this
refrigerator that has been a continuous problem since the first day we were
to take delivery. We have had to replace food twice and the warranty
we purchased replaced the food the 3rd time. This time we have not lost
any food since the technician could keep it running temporarily until the
new circuit board arrives and is installed on next Thursday, March 27th.
Three tech’s have informed me there have been a lot of service calls on
these LG refrigerators. The parts are from Korea evidently and are not
reliable…obviously !!
Our original purchase price was approximately $1670 ++…I am requesting
that you pick up this refrigerator and allow the full return price and I will
pay the difference for an upgraded Whirlpool or Maytag which come with
better recommendations.
If Sears/The Great Indoors/K-Mart…whatever you prefer to be called will
not stand behind their products … namely this Kenmore LG…I am prepared
to write to the Better Business Bureau along with the ConsumerAffairs.Com Inc.
however I hesitate to write any unfavorable comments if it is not necessary. We purchased a Kenmore
based on the previous reputation of Sears dating back many years. We have
NEVER had issues like this and I am totally amazed that now you do not or
will not stand behind your products..WHAT HAPPENED ?????
