I am now using a Black & Decker under the counter” coffeemaker and it bowls water over occassionally. I am handicapped and cannot lift my arm high enough to pour water in a regular coffee maker so therefore I have to have an “under the counter” coffee maker. Also, before I purchased this one, I purchased Model # OD460 and I was so disgusted with it that I throwed the whole complete coffee maker in the trash. It not only lost the water all over the counter top but the coffee did not stay warm more than 20 minutes in the carafe.
i have a unit with de on plug please advise

Have Model ODC #440 Code # on end of Plug 610 DE

We also have one on our boat but can’t check the
numbers for 3-4 weeks.

It said that they ae sending me a white basket for my 450. Is this the WHirte backet with the stainless front like I currentally have.
I am highly upset! In order to get the model designation I had to take down the coffee maker. Once I had that and registered with it and the complete date code I got a message telling me that that date code is not part of the recall. As you know the Safety Recall Notice states that date code ending in “DE” or “XO” may be covered.
In regards to odc440 recall I reported this recall at least a year ago and receaved a white replacement for a black pot. When I notified you for a black one I never heard from you again. I put the whole thing in the trash and vowed to never buy a black and decker again. I can not beleave It has taken this long to recall this product.
I have a Spacemaker Model ODC440 with a DE on the plug. They tell me that it is not covered. I complained about the basket overflowing a year ago and was told they would send a new basket. In a few days I got a package from you with a new carafe. I ended up just taking the Serve-a-cup plug clear off but then I had to remove the carafe lid also. I was tired of it pouring coffee all over the counter!!! I had a Spacemaker previously that I really liked, but they changed the design for the worst.
I have tried calling the number above and all I ever get is an automated reply that tells me our coffeepot is not covered. and then “Have a good day. Goodbye.” Where can I actually talk to a person??
To All-
I sympathize with all the difficulties you are having getting service from Black and Decker.

I JUST FILLED OUT RECALL FORM DESPITE NEVER HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BASKET OVERFLOWING. THE GLASS CARAFE BROKE DURING A CHISTMAS ’08 DINNER PARTY. COFFEE EVERYWHERE, ON ME, THE FLOOR, THE DESSERT TABLE. I CALLED FOR A REPLACEMENT CARAFE AND FINALLY GOT IT FOR $36.00! THEN, THE BOTTOM JUST FELL OUT OF THAT ONE. I WENT TO BLACK AND DECKER, RT 501 TANGER MALL NEAR CONWAY, NC TO BUY ANOTHER SPACEMAKER, THE WHOLE THING, ONLY TO BE TOLD, “SORRY,THEY’VE BEEN RECALLED AND HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED REPLACED BY THE NEW MODELS ON THE SHELF AND THERE ARE NO CARAFES.” GREAT. NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH MY NEW BASKET AND NO CARAFE. HELP! ANYONE! CAT# ODC440B (BLACK) I’LL PAY FOR IT!
I have your white ODC450 coffee maker. I have had one pot crash to the floor when the coffee basket overflowed. (It is a 827XO model on the plug.
Please tell me what to do with this coffee pot so that I don’t get burned.
Sincerely Dr. Thomas R. Miloch
I am very disappointed with our Spacemaker Drip Coffeemaker. We have always bought Black and Decker and never had any problems. Now with this coffeemaker we have hot water coming out of the basket constantly when turned on. Also the bottom of the place where the carafe is looks like rust or whatever the product could be is deteriorating! Please advise me on what to do. John and Rita Eppard,
After reading the above complaints and concerns I only have one other thing to add to it and that is in addition to all the other stuff, the white plastic lip of the actual carafe has leaked coffee since day one. I just made it a habit to always pour over the sink but I have to say, it gets old and its wasteful. Love the spacesaver design, but overall, its got alot of issues. Back to the drawing board…
I have the odc440b coffee maker with de on elec prong. what am
i to do
I have the white odc440 and a 0dc450. One has the basket that never looks shinny white and has a dull finish along with the entire pot dies have the water problem. It is hard to read the masker numbers in the back of the pot. l20V-60hz 900w, cat.01,3l43459,lr92967,604de or 640de I cannot remove pot unless I get some help and won”t do that unless I know it is a recall pot. thanks for you attention in this matter. I have had 3 spacesaver pots. Please make the materials of the pot so that they clean better. Pot never looks perfectly clean to me. (I am fussy)
I have the Black & Decker ODC440B, date code 842DE. Please tell me what I am to do with it?
To whom it may concern,
I have just received the recall notice.
I have the model ODC450.
The whole pot of hot coffee has on occasion overflowed.
What am I to do next???
Please advise.
Thank you
I own a B&D Spacemaker Coffee Maker in white with a Cat Number ODC450 and a plug date code XO, what do I have to do to get the replacement basket ? In passing I have to say that this (new) design is nowhere near as user friendly as the original B&D Spacemaker, itis defionitely a step backward and I am surprised that B&D allowed its name to be used for such a ‘pretty-pretty` design which is so poor to the user.
July 14,2009 I mailed the AC plug along with required paper work, in order to receive a replacement Spacemaker coffeemaker.
We have not received the product or any communication regarding the unit. Please advise. Thank you
I have a ODC440B SPACEMAKER plug #637DE contact me for instructions THX
I had the ODC450 for about 8 months and it just quit on me. I did like it, so I bought it again, seeing I have a small kitchen and under the cupboard worked for space. I registered the coffee maker, in which it stated i will be getting a new coffee maker, since teh basket didn’t fit my model. I received the instructions in the mail and stated to cut off the portion of the plug and mail it back along with tghe instructiondid so on 7/28. It said to give it 14 days and after 20, to call 866-668-4442. I call and all I get is an automatated message. It’s past 20 days and I’m upset I haven’t received my coffeemaker. Also, am I getting a 12 cup like I had and not an 8 cup? This recall is slow at best with giving little info. How can I call and actually speak with someone about my recall status, just like it says I can on my registration page?????
We got our recall package on our coffeemaker today and I am a very UNHAPPY consumer. I don’t want a grill, juicer, toaster, iron, rotisserie, or bottle opener. In particular I don’t want a plastic & glass coffeemaker. I want a comparable coffeemaker to what I am returning. A Stainless Steel 8 cup with a stainless thermal carafe. What is the deal? Every other appliance both small & large in our kitchen is stainless. Please offer me an alternative to the list that is very similar to what we are returning.
Sincerely,
Sally Yacques

I have a B&D SpaceMaker Coffee maker and when it first boiled over I found that the shut off system that allows you to pour a cup while it is still brewing is strong enough to push the pot away thus allowing hot water and grounds to spill over. This I feel is a bad design, If you can’t wait on it to finish There is in all probability a McDonald’s near by. anyway to solve this problem I disabled this feature.
I have a odc450 which I cut the plug off of and sent it back to Black & Decker for a replacement. The odc440 I got stopped working( electronics burned out). I kept the 450 for parts and I put a new plug on it and I used a twistie tie to keep the basket in place on both coffee makers. The 440 model got put in the trash. I discovered that my under the cabinet light was causing the problem with the electronics and I fixed that with a single outlet surge suppresser. I would like to have a new basket so that I don’t have to use a twistie to hold the basket in.

I received a letter on a recall for the brew basked on Cat. No. ODC440 and date code ending in DE. I purchased this coffeemaker in Delaware at the Black & Decker Store. I have returned it twice and they have replaced it for new one. Now I would like to know what I have to do to get a new brew basket. I went online but I see no place where to order a new one from Black & Decker
I have a Black & Decker Coffee maker that 90% of the time overflows & spills coffee & grounds all over the counter. My Coffee maker is White ODC450 with 627DE on the metal part of power chord. There is also a lot of steam coming out of basket.

While I was making coffee this morning the basket overflowed. In attempting to rectify the situation I dropped the carafe. I have taken the unit off the wall and found the model number is ODC325. Please let me know how I can replace the carafe and avoid any other overflow accidents.

basket overflows ODC-450
Responding to recall notice which I received in mail. I understand that the filter basket requires replacement. As a result of being scalded by the hot water/steam, I broke the 12 cup glass pot which also needs to be replaced. Please let me know when these items will be replaced. Thank you
I failed to note the model number and the code on the power plug.

And yes to over spill more than once. No burn though!! Did
have hot water spilling over the sides and finally the maker
stopped working altogether!! Have not replaced. What ever
you can do would be appreciated, but the brewer must have been
the problem!!
