Thanks again everyone, Yeah Meyer and Seth, my parents always had Kenmore and they worked forever. I just didn't know if they were still quality.

Thanks, ServiceTech - I hadn't thought aout stackable. I also will check out fridgidaire.

I'm not looking to be cheap, I just don't need the fanciest stuff around. I'm still waiting for the deal to close so I'm not in a big hurry, so I'll shop around.

I'm sure Whirlpool still makes them, althought I'm not positive. Any more if you get 10 years out of something thats saying a lot. Whirlpool and Frigadaire, still make a stacked unit. Either would be ok as far as service.

Hi, I'm about to purchase a townhouse and will need to buy a new washer and dryer. They will be in the attached garage. I live alone and don't have much laundry, but want a decent set of machines. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just functional and durable. Is one brand better than another?

Thanks.

Does Whirlpool still make Kenmore washers and dryers? Back when Whirlpool made them, I found they lasted 15-20+ years. I don't know about the current Kenmore product though.

We've had good luck with Kenmore washers and dryers. Also, stay away from extra features, they usually just end up causing problems later.
