You can adjust the water flow on the ice maker, If you remove the plastic cover from the front of icemaker [it just pulls off] there will be a white plastic screw on the right side of icemaker, turn it counter clock wise about 1/2 to 3/4 a turn to start. You may have to do this a couple of times to get it right. If it seems it doesn't change, icemaker replacment is next.

I have a Kenmore refrigerator model # 106.9552611 from 1996. The ice maker will not drop the ice cubes. This has happened several times over the years and I have just taken the ice maker out run water over it to melt the cubes and put it back in and it works fine then.

Now it appears the problem is that too much water fills into the tray and it’s unable to dump the ice, but I can hear the unit trying to dump the ice. I assume replacing the ice maker assembly would fix this problem. Any comments would be appreciated.
