I am in washing machine repar industry, and I want to say that yes, amana parts are pretty expensive but as welll as parts for some other brands. Indeed, look for any clogs inside. Sometimes the problem is very easy to fix. Otherwise it could be a motor problem. I actually quite like bagless vacuum cleaners - they're often cheaper.

Sadly, the best solution can sometimes be to buy a new one. I always have vacuum troubles. Thus I compiled this little guide to the best inexpensive vacuum cleaners. Most of them are very reliable and reasonably priced.

However, I do agree with the other posters on what to check. Good luck with your malfunctioning appliance! Let us know if you discover / fix the problem.

Need a new washing machine and was told by two repairmen to stay away from Amana-parts are expensive-maybe they are difficult to fix also. My 27 year old Whirlpool is not fixable-hate to part with it as they don't make them to last now.

I believe most brands are made by the same company.

Any input is greatly appreciated!
