I know it has been forever since you've asked this questions but I thought I'd reply anyway! I use my little crock pot to “cook” different spices. It makes the house smell great and you can have them in there all day long.   I would strongly recommend trying to let some spices simmer in there for a day or so and I know you'll love the results.
