Ms. Morton,

We spoke with a representative at KitchenAid who says your current, 33 year old attachments should work just fine with any new KitchenAid mixer. I hope this helps you.

Ms. Morton, Do you know how much it will cost to repair your mixer or much a new one of the same type will cost? Also, will your old attachments work on a new model? ( I would think so). Maybe you would like a larger, more powerful mixer and this is your opportunity to get it. Fixing the cord should be fairly simple, the speed control sounds more complicated. Please try to let us know what you decide and how it works out.

My kitchenaid stand mixer is almost 33 years old and I wonder whether it’s worth repairing. It needs a new electrical cord and now it only has 1 speed–FAST! It makes great whipping cream. Seriously, I can’t do anything with it now. I have almost all the attatchments that go with it and hate to get rid of it. Thanks for your reply.
