You'll find a lot more KitchenAid appliances than Kenmore because Kenmore is specific to Sears, while KitchenAid can be found at most home appliance stores. I'm not certain how that would impact the availability of service if you have problems down the road.

I can make double batches of choc, chip cookies - no problem. I can easily make bread with 7+ cups of flour. Sometimes I make too large a batch and it climbs up the hook and makes a mess.

There is a larger, more powerful KA mixer - I think its called the Pro 600. It has a better dough hook.

I also wanted a larger bowl, but they don't do that because they are made to mix properly in the bowl designed for that specific mixer.

I never heard of it before either. Just found it online and was curious. I bake alot also. Is the 5 qt. the largest? And it is big enough to make double batches of things like cookies? And is there a place where you can buy extra or larger bowls? thanks for any info you have.

I don't know about the Kenmore - never even seen one - but I have a Kitchenaid 5qt Artisan mixer that I love. I bake a LOT and use it almost every day. The only thing is that it is about three years old and starting to rattle. Something is coming loose, but I don't know what it is. It still works fine though and I give it some tough mixing jobs.

I am looking at buying my first mixer and am very nervous about what is what. I am trying to decide if the name of the kitchenaid is worth the extra money or if the kenmoore is just as good but has a different name. I really could use any information that you have. Thanks!!!
