Most of the newer dryers now a days has a thermal fuse that will blow and cause the unit to appear dead. They are mounted some where on the blower housing. The main reason they blow is from the unit not being able to vent properly [clogged up vent]. I would recommend calling a service person to check it out, and to also check and clean your vent.

Our Kenmore Elite Oasis Electric Dryer won't start. However, it's obviously receiving some power as the drum light inside the machine illuminates. Any guesses? No lights on the instrument panel are lit, and we've checked the plug and circuit breaker.
