	<description><![CDATA[<p>You&#39;re right, that&#39;s why you have a catch pan.&#160; Some ice melts and it&#39;s there to protect the floor.&#160; It should be just a small amount of water that evaporates.&#160; Eight ounces seems like it might be a lot, maybe you just guessed high?&#160;</p>
<p>You could just watch how much ends up there over the next couple weeks and see.</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Should there ever be water in drip pan of refrigerator?</p>
<p>Have side by side Whirlpool. Freezer on left. Has ice make.<br />There is a drip pan at bottom of freezer side.</p>
<p>Noticed today (never looked before) there was some water in the catch pan. I would say about 8 ounces at most.</p>
<p>Not sure if this is normal perhaps due to a defrost cycle or something (frost free refrigerator about 7 years old) and it will evaporate or if this is something to watch out for.</p>
<p>Ice maker working fine. Water dispenser working fine.<br />Never had a problem with it thus far.</p>
