I cooked rice in my rice cooker 5 days ago and forgot to empty it as i normally do the next morning because my husband went out of town and it just slipped my mind completely. So needless to say, i opened it to cook rice today and found moldy rice which i emptied and proceeded to clean everything to get that nasty smell out. I got the smell completely out of the inner cooking pot, and out of the rice cooker itself with ammonia and water. The smell in the top, however, will not completely go away. I tried soaking it in ammonia and water, scrubbing it with ammonia, and nothing is working. It's made of plastic and has a rubber seal, where most of the smell is sticking. Any advice you can give me to try is greatly appreciated.
