I agree with you!

We purchased our home (new) in December, 2000, and it was filled with GE appliances:

1. GE Dishwasher - broke after 6 years. It was leaking water in the back; not a lot, just a little and we never saw water leaking out. The slow leak was going on for who knows how long. It leaked under the cabinets over a long period of time, causing the cabinets to mold and rot. We removed the dishwasher and ended up having to replace all of the cabinets near the dishwasher because they were so rotted! $600 in new cabinet!! We found out later that the GE dishwasher had a recall on it.

2. GE Range - Is still working. The push buttons on the control panel stopped working after 2 years.

3. GE Microwave - Stopped working a month ago. It comes on and the fan is running, but the food will not heat up. You can also smell a strange odor when it comes on.

I **HATE** GE products!

We bought a refrigirator and a stove in 2002. Within two years the plaastic around the glass slide out shelves was broken in the corners on each shelf. I am holding them together with duct tape. The plastic in the freezer cracked a month after the warranty expired. The glass door on the self cleaning, smooth top stove has cracked twice in 6 years, the stove elementr burnt out aftr 15 months and the temperature in the stove is beyond callibration. I either undercook or burn food in that appliance. When I called the customer service, to tell them that they should be prosecuted for selling such garabage, I was told, too bad soo sad, but you should have purchased the extended warranty. I believe that appliances should last at lease 10 years. Is this how they are making their profits, by selling the guillable customers extended warranties on garbage products?
