There are some cooktops that only used a 30 Amp circut. Most of the breaker boxs can have the breaker changed out, fuse boxes are trickier, some are only rated for 1 size 30,40,50 etc. Should have ratings stamped in them somewhere. Any questions or not sure, PLEASE PLEASE consult a licenses electrician.

My question is, should the electrical connection that is being used for the cooktop be suffiicient for the range?  It has a dedicated juntion box in the wall behind the cabinet where the cooktop is located, and I am hoping I can wire the new range into that circuit when I install it.
