Most of the time when a drain pump keeps running it has to do with water being in the bottom of the unit, the unit thinks its a flood and turns on the pump. Most "higher end" dishwashers have a solid base and incorparate a flood switch that actavates when water gets to the base pan, thus the motor running all the time. It will not shut off until the water is gone, or you unplug the unit. The reason water is there is another problem. Nighowl has the best answer call the Factory.

I'd say give the 800 number a try - it's free and they might be able to talk you through the problem. It's possible it's as simple as pushing some buttons to reset the machine and start over. You won't know unless you call. You can always decline a service call if you don't want it.

We have a two and a half year old Miele Optima dishwasher that recently stopped in mid cycle with the alarm beeping. Opening the door, you can hear the drain pump runniing, and, instead of the usual program time it shows F70.

The manual says turn off the water and call Miele Support at an 800 number.

Do I really have to call someone in Toronto to get a Vancouver dishwasher fixed? Is there a quick fix?

Thanks,
