There are a number of washers available in the US that have internal heaters to heat the water beyond that what your water heater does. This Bosch WFVC4400UC , this model has an internal heater to heat water to 170F for what it calls the XxtraSanitary cycle. It doesn't explicitly say that it has an internal heater for special “extra hot” cycles, but this LG WM2501HWA  has a few different ways that it can use steam to help clean your clothes, so I assume it would very likely have a decent internal heater.

I think you answered your own question. Europeon built machines are the only ones I know, or been around, that do what you want. I thinkthe Asko machine is the only ones I have come across that have a one fill hose hook up.

Hello,

I'm from Europe where front loder washing machines are the norm since the late 70s. Yes, they are much smaller than their US brothers, but I love one thing about them. They use cold water only from the water line and they heat the water up to the correct temperature. Also, they ALL keep the water at the correct temperature during wash. It is not an option on these washers, but the norm, the usual behavior.

So, in the US, the washing machines all use both water lines, the hot and cold. Since in our area, and I'm sure I'm not alone, the hot water temperature from the faucet varies greatly. Therefore the “warm” setting can be pretty cold, or pretty hot, but never warm. I beleive, 90% of all the washes are in warm water, so how come that in the US none of the washers set the correct temperature? Is there a front loader in the US that actually has heating rods inside to set water temperature?

Thank you for any suggestions—
Endre
