The sears oasis washer and dryer series just destroys the competition. It is very energy efficient, quiet, and really does a great job at cleaning clothes. I recommend it to anyone looking for a new laundry solution.

The sear's oasis is such a good washer and dryer appliance. They are not only really effiicent but they do the job well. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their laundry room equipment.

I am writing in response to the letter posted by nightowl regarding the recall of the above mentioned washer. In Nov 2010 a tech came out and replaced the computer board because I was having trouble setting the cycles. They would flutter and I would have a hard time putting them on the correct setting. He said the  board was bad and replaced it, along with another part that I think involved the suspension.Anyway, ever since he replaced the board, I have been getting the F1 code, and the machine seems to go off balance a majority of the time.I did not have these problems before the tech replaced the board.Funny thing is, without even rearranging the clothes, after it says it is off balance, I found that if I turn off the machine, let it drain and then restart it on the drain and spin cycle, it works fine, no more off balance. The machine goes off balance quite often and it leads me to believe there is a computer glitch because like I said, it will stop because it is supposedly off balance and if I try over and over to start it, it will stay off balnce and stop again. But if I do the drain/spin cycle all is well.Anyway, I saw the serial numbers nightowl listed and my washer is within those parameters. The post was from 2009.Fast forward to June 2011…….I called the 800 number for the recall and gave them the serial number of my washer and was told that my number is not one of the affected models……I am disappointed and feel like they probably feel as though the time ran out for that serial number so it is no longer on the list…I never received a letter from Sears notifying me of the recall, the first I knew of it was when I went on an internet search to try to find out what the F1 code meant…Hpowever, I feel I am in a better position than some others, because my warranty is still good until Dec of this year…I sceduled a visit from a Sears tewch to take care of it…I just hope they don't try to tell me that they already replaced the board once and that I will have to pay out of pocket for another…I think those units are refurbished….I want a brand new one!  Cry

Don't get too excited.  I received the letter and had just started having problems with the F1 error.  Unfortunately, my serial number begins with CU and therefore my washer already has the upgraded electronic control board.  I called Sears, but they are not responsive and I will now have to find a new appliance and even more importantly a new appliance store.

Well, it appears that Sears has heard the many complaints about it’s Oasis washer and has finally responded.  If you have had F1 error codes,  Sears is offering owners of affected models an electronic control board upgrade at no cost.

Sears is sending letters to owners of Oasis washers notifying them of the free upgrade.  The letter qualifies the offer by noting that the owner must respond within ninety days of receiving the letter.

According to Sears, “Those units that qualify for the upgraded electronic control board have serial numbers inthe range where the first four characters of the serial number begin …
