i wonder if its a UV water purifier rather than an ionizer. the UV filters are supposed to be great for killing bacteria etc. in the water. not sure why you would want it on the water intake to the washer though.

I was at a customers house and they had something on the line of a light box, about 2 ft. by 3 ft., mounted on the wall, that the water ran through, before it went to the washer. I think it has to do with ION lights. Anybody have any ideal what I'm talking about? I failed to look at it very close [I was working in kitchen and just saw it for a second] Wondering if anybody has used such a device or knows anything about them. Thanks Servicetech
