I purchased a GE range a few months back and the knobs get extremely hot when using the oven. Today I started searching the net for any problems reported and came across your comment. I think I will ring GE today and find out why this is happening. My kids have burned themselves – that is how hot they get.

I am considering purchasing either a GE PGB918SEMSS or PGB975SEMSS gas range but have read concerns on the “net” about the exterior surfaces and burner knobs becoming hot enough, when using the main oven, to cause burns or blisters. Is this, in fact, the case; and if so, why hasn't there been a recall? I can't believe this would be an acceptable condition.
