Our Jenn-air side-by-side is about 3 1/2 years old (maybe more) and we had to have the relay on the compressor (I think I have the names right) replaced about 5-6 months ago.  The fridge was always running, but it was not cooling.  It cost us around $500 to get it fixed.  Now I find out that there is a recall on Jenn-air fridges, for exactly the trouble we had, but my model is not part of the recall!

We've had a Jenn-air for about four years.  The crisper drawers have broken at least 4-5 times.  Most of the time my husband can just put it back together, but once they had to be replaced.  It was still under warranty and so they sent out new drawers.

Just about two weeks ago, a latch on the door broke.  We have a side-by-side with a compartment for storing wine other things.  I have no idea why the designers thought this was a feature – mostly it is just a pain, and now the latch broke.  The door still closes but it is not secure.

I considered this a quality fridge when I bought it – it cost us over $1000.  I am pleased with how much t can hold, but I could have bought any large fridge and gotten that.

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are wrestling with what stove, fridge, hood to buy for our new house. We were pretty set on Jenn-Air (JGS8860BDP) and maybe a jenn-air fridge; however with this GE Cafe line we have been reconsidering our decision.

I prefer the Jenn-Air stove; however, I have been unimpressed with Jenn-Air fridges. Where as the Cafe stove has been slightly lackluster (i.e; not a slide in, griddle maybe a waist, nobes seem cheap), but the fridge is fantastic.

Let us know your thoughts – thanks!
