I have had them mess up a lot of boards, in a lot of different ways. I do not recall any shorting out. Sounds more like a faulty solder job on terminal to board connection. I have had loose connections between the terminal and where it plugs in causes shorts and fires.

Hi all :D

I got a Frigidaire range that caught on fire at the control board in the bottom corner at the bake terminal.
I was told the fire started because of cockroaches, (by the owner of the range) and there's a lot of Roach feces on the board, but by the bake terminal I cant tell much because of the soot on the board.

But I have a hard time believing that the roaches shorted this board out like this, I'm thinking that something else caused the short. Seems to me the roaches would of toasted before a metal terminal. (Hot to ground short)

The bake terminal on the board looks like it shorted at the connection point on the board. It looks like a direct short and blew the terminal off the board and it is still in the female connection, the wire that was hooked to the bake terminal.

Now my question is has anyone ever heard of roaches or other bugs causing something to short like this (direct short) and cause a fire???

I seen where they would short out a board and it would not work right anymore But I Never heard of one causing a direct short and causing a fire.

Thanks for any output on this :thanks:
