I have had the same problem recently. Danby's wine cooler frig, needed repairs 6 months after purchaseing (total of 6 units bought for company office 52nd floor). Tech came 5 times charged just to show up and for parking, repairs were done incorrectly, finally had to pull unit and take to another repair facility. the repair lasted 6months, broken again. Unit is now out of warrenty, and Danby will not cover repairs……..

A perfect example of customer no service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a friendly warning NOT to EVER buy a Danby product.  Their customer service is absolutely horrible!  I bought a brand new Danby fridge less than 4 years ago and it completely died the other day w/o warning.  Over $100 of food spoiled.  They refuse to replace the fridge and still haven't gotten the parts out to the service tech for almost 2 weeks.  During this period we have been living out of a cooler!  They won't even step up and cover the labor for the service tech to replace the compressor when it finally arrives!  We already paid him $75 the 1st time he came out.  The service tech has even told us that he thinks the fridge may still not work even after he replaces the parts.  We have relayed this to Danby and they just don't care.  For such a large company, they will not part with $400 to get us a replacement fridge, even when they claim that they are “commited to their customers” (directly from their website).  When you try to call them up you are on endless hold and never get to speak to a live person… just a recording.  I had to send threatening emails just to get a response.  Camping is fun for a weekend, but no one should have to live out of a cooler for 2 weeks in their own home.

So please be warned….. DO NOT BUY A DANBY !!
