Yes you can !!! 

you can save corner space by “1/6 to 1/2″ .probs this space is sufficient to install a decor burner with a down dreaft .

In the midst of switching cooktops from a 15 year old 4 burner Themador 36″ center grill (with down draft blower) to a Dacor 5 burner (also with a down draft blower) I have found that the difference between the old desingn and new design is off by an 1/8″ in. going from the back to front.  Can I, after removing the Thermador, cut into the front portion of the granite and frame of the cabinet to create an extra 1/8″-1/2″ of space needed to install the Dacor?
