If the oven doesn't vent to the stovetop, where does it vent to?

I am looking at new refrigerators and stoves and want to buy the same brand. I am comparing Frigidaire, Whirlpool, Kenmore and GE. I noticed there are differences in the ceramic cooktop watts. Frigidaire has a 3000-watt 12″ burner vs. 2500-watt large burner on Kenmore. It makes sense to me that the 3000-watt burner might be a better choice. Also, I am going to buy a stove without an oven vent that opens to the stove top. My Whirlpool currently has this annoying feature. Any thoughts on range features?
