i would go with the propane and buy an extra tank for 39 dollars. that way you can never run out, but if there is ever a natural disaster (i live in earthquake country) you are not dependent on the city's gas supply to keep cooking. with a side burner, you can boil water, or cook as needed and you've just taken care of part of your emergency preparedness.

Seems obvious- with the natural gas line, you'll never run out of gas in the middle of cooking.

So, I want to get a new BBQ and am going back and forth between canned propane and natural gas. Our house has a gas line that previous owners put in, but it's not exactly where I want the BBQ. Is it costly to extend the line?
