OMG. I just Googled and found everyone else is having problems too. I bought the Oasis washer (model 110) and dryer set ($2,400) on Jan. 1, 2007. I bought a warranty for the second year. Shortly before the warranty ended in 2008, the dreaded F code would not go away so I called Sears out. They replaced the electrical console under the extended warranty, telling me it was a $400 part. I'm wondering now if it was recalled. I was never notified.

When it came time to renew the warranties, Sears wanted $200 per year for each machine. Wouldn't take long to pay for the machines all over again. But it did make me wonder what was going on. Now I know. Just barely five years old, and the F code is going off again. (And this time the lid wouldn't unlock so I could remove the slightly wet clothes!) Called Sears and it's a bearing -- the entire TUB needs to be replaced and it takes 10 days to get the part. $429! So now these two repairs have cost 2/3 of the original purchase price of the washer, and 70-80% of the machine has been replaced.

To add insult to injury, I asked the tech to check the dryer, including cleaning out the vent. For this I paid $39 extra. He pushed a button so the machine could run its own diagnostics, and took the front off and vacuumed underneath the drum. I asked them if they were going to clean out the hose -- you know, where the fires start because of the lint bulid up? NO! I have to call the duct people!

It's unbelievable that this washer cost so much and falls apart so often. The next time the F code goes off, it's outta here. I'm done throwing good money after bad.

We own (same as Lori who posted above) GE Dishwasher Model PDW9980L00SS, serial # LL759130B.
We woke up tonight at 1:30 AM to a very strong burning smell. This Dishwasher was NOT even turned on. No water. It turned itself on for heat drying after we went to sleep at 10:30 PM and totally melted all plastic parts inside and all plastic coookwares left inside. Plastics were dripping like wax in a fire. We slept upstairs. The stench downstairs, in the kitchen, was unbelievable! !!!!!! Such overheating (we caught it earlier as it took place during daytime) took place earlier on 3-18-2008 and on 02-16-2011. Did anybody else, besides Laurie, experienced such severe overheating of this Dishwasher model? Also, is there angry GE recall for this model??? Please e-mail to: gregorykorzon@gmail.com

My girlfriend's washer has been giving an F1 error as well. After searching online, I noticed there was an issue with getting service due to the serial number and model number not being covered. Just for giggles I headed to the local Sears Service center to inquire about a solution. They printed off and gave me a copy of an internal Service Flash report. The number is SF26-794R1, it cover the F1 code with a free replacement of the board. I was told to call 1-800-469-4663 for help.

Sears Service originally gave us the runaround stating that the model number was not covered. The serial numbers covered according to the Service Flash are from CS48 - CU52.

The model numbers covered are 27032600, 27032601, 27032602, 27032603, 27042600, 27042601, 27042602, 27042603, 27052600, 27052601, 27052602, 27062600, 27062601, 27062602, 27062603, 27062604, 27072600, 27072601, 27072602, 27072603, 27072604, 27082601, 27082602, 27082603, 27082604, 27082605, 27086601, 27086602, 27086603, 27086604, 27086605, 27087601, 27087602, 27087603, 27087604, 27087605, 27092600, 27092601, 27092602, 27092603, 27092604, 27152600, 27152601, 27152602, 28032700, 28032701, 28042700, 28042701, 28082700 & 28092700.

According to Sears Service, because this is covered by a service flash the repair and replacement to fix should be zero cost ($0) to you. If there is another problem with the machine, that cost would be not be covered.

We talked to several service people, once they confirm the serial number range of the service flash you should be good. The techs are under the impression that this service flash only covers serial numbers CS48 - CT45. THIS IS NOT CORRECT! The range covered by the Service Flash is CS48 - CU52 (as of 4/13/2009). This is the most recent update of the Service Flash

Also, the service person I spoke to said the techs are supposed to honor any documentation you might have, so if you can get a copy of the service flash referenced above, they should honor that documentation.

Hope this helps anyone with the F1 error.

I have a Kitchenaid side-by-side model KSRD25FKSS03. Like others, my relay caught fire. Lots of smoke but my wife was at home and able to switch off the main power before it spread. Whirlpool/Kitchenaid refused to do a courtesy service call on this safety issue. I filed a complaint with the CPSC since I believe these units are a fire hazard. I'd urge others to do the same. Whirlpool could have spent a few dollars on a service call to replace a part, but instead has annoyed someone who has purchased lots of Whirlpool/Kitchenaid over the years. Now, I'll be spreading the word on their dodgy goods and poor response.

Not sure if this is still going on like last person said ... I am in such desperate need of a new washer and.dryer set, bought our house that "came with" a gas dryer 11 yrs ago 1st thing to go wrong with the house was the dryer went out followed by just about everything except it catching fire. To upgrade to an electric dryer my house will have to undergo about $12,000 in electrical upgrades. We were finally able this year to fix our shower in our only bathroom from where the tiled walls that had been getting mold all the way thru to the studs and exterior wall. We have a 10 yr old son and brand new baby now and it's really hard to come up with extra money to do anything these days. God Bless Your company for helping someone out!

I purchased this model washer and dryer and they both have given me problems. My washer has had the error code for over 2 years now. So, yes I have been pressing START/STOP 10x's before the cycle and then again with about 12 minutes remaining in the cycle. It is the most annoying thing in the world BUT I simply do not have the money to repair it. My dryer also makes a continuous beeping sound at all time regardless of the cycle. I am so disappointed with Sears and Kenmore. I will try and call the toll free # again although I already did it 2 years ago.

A tooth of my Kitchen Aid blender coupler just broke while I was blending a cup of fully thawed fruit, 6 pieces of frozen fruit, a cup of milk, and a scoop of ice cream. I dug out my old Oster blender and will consider junking the Kitchen Aid. I googled "My Kitchen Aid blender broke", and could not believe so many others have had the same problem.

I have posted on here several times in the past. Here are some details with my washer and results.

The washer was ripping our clothes on the spin cycle so we contacted Sears. We were told that we didn't know how to use the washer and should only use a slower spin cycle.

F1 error codes on the washer and error codes on the dryer. The warranty just expired so I purchased the extended warranty. Circuit boards were replaced in both machines.

About 15 months later, the F1 code comes back. I contacted Sears and it was not a recalled serial number. Sears refused to stand behind their product. I contacted Whirlpool and they said there was an agreement where they did not warrant and Kenmore items. I went to the Better Business Bureau in Chicago. No resolution. The contact at Sears stated they would not handle the matter.

There is a petition but that will do not good. The class action suit is being handled by Andrus Anderson and their web site is http://www.toploadclassaction.com/index.php.

I hope this helps.

Purchased washer and dryer set in May of 2009. Have had a repairman out once already alst year and now I am getting a F code. Did work to just reset it for the past few days, but now it doesn't reset at all. I tried unplugging it all day yesterday. Did not help.. Have had the UL code a couple times too.. Didn't know about a recall. Thanks for the info. Going to try and find the model and serial number now. I agree with yall, class action!! Not that it will do any good if Sears has no money anyway!! But 800 for a machine that won't work??? What I don't understand is if they could make things "back in the day" that worked and lasted for years, why can't they now?? The washer we had growing up my mom had FORVER!!!!! And it never had problems.. Where is the quality these days???
