Have a Kenmore Model# 665.95002102 that overheated with no control. Potential for serious damage, fortunately my wife was home and able to pull out the range and disconnect the power cord. This was reported to CPSC. From all these reported incidents, must be a common faulty design with no fail-safe. Sears needs to take responsibility for these products.

We bought our Kenmore smooth range drop-in, Serial Number: 790.45599902 in October 2011 and the oven has broken two months later! We used it for the first time tonight and it would not turn off. We had to turn the breaker off and now we can't cook at home. It wouldn't have even done us any good to get the extended warranty because it broke after TWO MONTHS! What the heck?! I'm filing a complaint with the CPSC because our model should be on the recall list as well as everybody else's! I've read all of these horror stories and I'm not going to Sear's anymore. Our household has been buying from them for 20 years, but not after this! I can't believe that people have been reporting this problem for 2+ years and they are still selling these DANGEROUS appliances!

I bought a Kenmore smooth top range, model # 790.96122408.I have the same problems like the folks above.Front burner coming on but is off.The front burner won't shut off and the heat is at red hot.The time would come off at times. The oven is overheating that the top of the stove gets extremely hot as well,so much as to severe burns. When I bake moisture comes from the oven, escaping at the left top causing condensation from the moisture to pool on top of the range.Yesterday,I baked a bread and error F30 appeared and now the oven is shut and the light is on for closed oven. Can't open the oven door.My husband had to shut the circuit breaker many times to avoid serious burns or fire.Sears and Frigidaire are both not accepting a defective stove because it's not one of their recalled models.I had a tech come twice to fix the problem and just recently spent another $60. in parts that the Sears rep said we need to change.I called yesterday and today to both Sears and Frigidaire and everyone is giving me the other one to contact. Many hours spent wasted without any help but they all want to send a tech out for $129. plus parts. They can't do anything is all they can say, although I told them these models starting with 790.... all have the same dangerous problems. The last supervisor at Sears(at 5:45p.m. today,10/11/11),his name is John ,told me that I should have taken out a service agreement, then he would have sent a tech out to fix it.Otherwise,I have to pay for them to fix it.I filed a complaint with the U.S. safety com. but from what I've read they won't do anything unless so many complaints are filed for a particular model #.Moreover, they're corp. friendly.Frigidaire and Sears should be responsible for all models beginning with 790 because that's where most of the defects are with the Kenmore models starting with 790.I'd be willing to join in a class action suit. These corps. don't care if your house burn to the ground or if anyone dies as result of a fire. It's a small price they have to pay compared to if they have to recall all the stove.Paying for a person's death is cheaper for them. It's so sad but true.

Frigidaire model smooth top electric range: c970-440832

Seriel nf54222982

left front element turn on/off by itself.

It was happened at 8 pm on Oct 1 ,2011, before we went out for shopping, I double check the stove, all the on/off pads show off, but the front left element was red, I asked my kid the answer was she turned it off, so I assume it was the residual heat.

When we got home 10:pm, the house was filled with smoke, fire alarm was aloud, and the contend left in the pot was brned to black. freaking out, open all the windows and turn on the fans. my cat was survive. flip the breaker, 1 more hour late still cam smell the smoke.

No more Kenmore product

So here I am feeling bad for everyone whose product was not on the recall list - but I was feeling lucky that mine was - as per the appliance.net website...until I called Sears this morning and was told my Kenmore Elite Smoothtop Electric Range model #790.99019 900 was not effected by the recall! Through our language barrier, "Blas" explained to me that my model needed to end in 101 not 900! Really? I am on the phone with CPSC hotline now. She double checked and no - the product is not covered. She said that if the compliance officer gets enough complaints he might add more models to the list. Unfortunately, not every victim is aware of this forum and not everyone that is will contact the CPSC. Repair or replace - that is the question. As mentioned before - it sure won't be a Sears/Kenmore product.

I have a Frigidaire model # FEFLMC55GCA smooth top electric range I bought in August of 2008.While using the right rear burner, the other 3 burners came on by themselves with the temps going out of control. The only way i could turn it off was to turn off the breaker. After reading about all of these problems I am not confident with the fix. It sounds to me that Frigidaire isnt sure about there fix because they do not post on what the fix Is. I probably will replace the stove.
WHY ISNT THIS A MANDATORY RECALL INSTEAD OF VOLUNTARY.

I am another one who's Frigidaire Range caught fire. Same situation: dinner in the over, very loud crackle & pops, I turn around, and there are flames shooting out of the electrical pannel, resulting in damage to my home. I filed a complaint with Frigidaire, have been through the recall department, the risk management department, a claims adjuster, and they even sent a 3rd party company out to take my statement and pictures. Problem is now it's been over a month with NO RANGE, and NOBODY will call me back, including the manager of the Claims Department at Electrolux (parent company) who is personally handling my case. I left a message that if I do not receive a return phone call within 24 hours, then I'm going to call the news station to expose the company. Guess what, still no return call. Some advice please... because my range was actually on recall, are they going to replace it? Or just ignore me from here until eternity?

The Electrolux (home company) Frigidaire stove problems continue even after years of reports.

LGEF3043KFD Frigidaire flat top 36 inch stove bought at Lowe's

Burners heat to random temperatures. Set to low and food boils dry in minutes.

Oven would not shut off Sept 16, 2011. Pulled stove away from wall, unplugged, had boys put it in the garage

Stove was purchased August 30, 2010.

Looking for a new wave of Frigidaire recalls.

In the meantime . . .

If you are having safety issues with your Frigidaire range stove or other products, you can call the Consumer Product Safety Commission CPSC at (800) 638-2772. You will need to provide your contact information including a phone number as well as the model and serial number and place of purchase with a purchase date.

I have a Kenmore model # 79095922301 smooth top electric range made by Frigidaire.I was baking pork chops on 9/10/11 at 400 degrees and was in the living room watching tv.After around 1/2 hour i heard a pop and snap sound coming from the kitchen.I went to the kitchen to see smoke then flames coming from the controller on top of the range!I grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out then pulled the range away from the wall and ran down stairs and shut the breaker off! This thing could have burnt my house down!
