I sent my stickvacum on April 20, 2009 due to recall. No word yet on what’s going on or when are they going to send it back to me. I’ve been calling for the last 3 days but no one answers the given 1800 number. Today, May 27, I called and hold my speakerphone for an hour, for an hour and still did not get an answer. Is anybody working on this recall. Just send my vacum back no questions ask & I will just return it to Costco and never buy any of your products again. You have one unhappy customer still waiting for reply. I will for sure write the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter.

    Thank you.

  14. judith preece says:

I just spoke to the customer service at electrolux and they told me my ser. # was not included in the recall even thought it is the model EL 1000 A. 9.6 volt. my ser. # is 051402599. Now I am worried about mine. I hope they are being straight with me. They told me I would have to but a new vac.

  15. chris iTutorDrPhil says:

yeah… the problem seems to me to be the charger… mine puts out 23 volts and it is labeled 15 volt charger… all that to charge a 9.6 volt vac that is written on the front of my vacuum?…NOT GOOD….EXPLODE? YESSSSSS!…looks like they need to increase the scope of the recall in my opinion…mine is a model 1007 erograpido

  16. marge johnston says:

I have an EL1000B Electrolux stick vac which I have owned for several years, noticed recently that there does not seem to be any suction on the unit(s), Contacted Electrolux who advised me that the batteries eventually loose power and I would need to purchase a new battery unit at a cost of $94. Meanwhile after some research found this web site concerning recall. My serial number does not fall into the categories noted, but it is a 9.6 volt. I would think that the company would recall all of that model numbers regardless of serial number. any one have any suggestionsl
