Mr. Moreno,
I suggest contacting the company using the contact info:

Consumer Contact: For additional information on GE /Profile units, contact General Electric toll-free at (888)-240-2745 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Saturday, or visit GE’s Web site at www.geappliances.com.

Or you can check recalls at cpsc.gov. Sometimes the recalls are expanded as more units exhibit problems. Your microwave was manufactured after the dates listed, but may have been added to the recall since it was first issued in 2007.

I hope this helps, please come back and let us know what you learn. It will help the next consumer with a similar problem.

We purchased a house in CA with this type of GE microwave combo. The appliance was built on January 2004 and the model number resembles one of the listed numbers JKP86W0F3WW. The unit is white and looks exactly like the pictured unit. The microwave stopped working after the control unit emitted some smoke. Is this unit excluded?

How can I find out if our GE combo unit just like the picture shown in the page above, is one of the recalled appliance. I don't have the model and serial number to compare with, due to the number and lettering that are no longer readable inside the microwave. According to our owner's manual we have a JK86 27/30" Double wall oven (white). Microwave is no longer working .

I would suggest that you call the number on the recall notice above: (888)-240-2745 and check about your model. Please check your model again before you call. I believe the number you list here is a serial number, not a model number.
God Luck.

I am writing regarding the recent recall for GE combination conventional and microwave ovens. My model is GZ 931876S. We have had problems with this unit since its purchase 8-2000. I have called several times regarding concerns with the unit getting so hot that it has melted my cabinets. Additionally the unit (micorwave oven) has had had to be repaired and is now in need of an additional repair for failure to work once more. My question - is there a recall, concern or some form of rebate for the purchase of this model GE Profile Performance. Please advise concerning this information.
